Why it belongs in the playground.
I wanted to build around the jobs a freelancer actually needs to finish. Send the invoice, see whether it’s been paid and keep the paperwork together. Those jobs should be easy to find even if you only open the app twice a month.
The cost was part of the design brief. I wanted it to be affordable for the person using it and inexpensive for me to run and maintain. It’s grown to cover expenses and bank reconciliation, so the test for adding anything is whether it makes a job people already do easier.
The 18 free calculators are an acquisition experiment. Someone searching for a freelance rate or trying to price a design project can solve that problem first and discover Lufu before they need to send the invoice.
